JFK was the second youngest president in the United States history. During the campaign Nixon highlighted his opponent's lack of experience but when the votes were counted, Kennedy won by 34,226,925 votes to 34,108,662. At his inaugural address on January 20,1961 Kennedy challenged the people of the United States saying, "Ask not what your country can do for you, but rather what you can do for your country." On November 22, 1963 Kennedy was assassinated. At about 12.30 p.m. the presidential limousine entered Elm Street. Soon afterward Kennedy was shot getting hit in the head and shoulder. He was later declared dead at around 1 p.m.
